Harold T. Duryee As Director of the Ohio Department of Insurance from 1991 to 1999 he was active in the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and chaired the Market Conduct and Consumer Affairs Committee and the Financial Regulation and Accreditation Committee, each for two years. During his tenure he assisted the NAIC leadership in establishing the committees dealing with international issues. In 1986, Mr. Duryee was appointed by President Ronald Reagan and continued to serve under President George Bush as Federal Insurance Administrator. In that position he was responsible for management of the National Flood Insurance Program and the Federal Crime Insurance Program. Mr. Duryee is a graduate of Kenyon College and has been involved in many civic activities in Ohio. He serves as Trustee and Executive Committee member of the Griffith Foundation for Insurance Education, as well as past board member and host family for the Columbus International Program.
