Gibbons Dr. Gibbons has also served as Technical Advisor to the Association of Insurance Institutes of the Caribbean, for which he has conducted several risk management seminars. He developed the Chartered Insurance Institute's North American Insurance Market Practice course, and he has been a consultant to UNCTAD and The World Bank. A graduate of Kenyon College, Dr. Gibbons earned his Ph.D. at Yale University, specializing in economic history and international economics. He is co-author of Insurance Company Finance and Investments, which The Journal of Risk and Insurance called "a significant breakthrough in the area of insurance company financial management . . . consolidating materials from current finance and economic theory and applying them to insurance company financial management." Another study, The Changing Location of the U.S. Insurance Industry, traced the role of technological change in office siting decisions. Dr. Gibbons contributed this perspective on economic development to advisory panels for the U.S. Office of Technology Assessment and for Greater Philadelphia First.
